We Roll With the Reds

At long last, the final screenshot for the final raid instance of the expansion.

It’s been two years (wow, two years?) of great accomplishments, bittersweet farewells, glorious conquests, and soul-crushing defeats. I’ve had the pleasure of raiding another expansion with a truly great group of folks, once again, both in and from Zul’jin at-large.

The next screenshot here will be from Cataclysm’s first raid as we’re taking a much needed break until then. From Naxx to Ruby Sanctum, from Malygos to Sindragosa, and everywhere in between. We came. We saw. We conquered. To all those guilds continuing on to Light of Dawn and Heroic Halion, we salute you and wish you the best of luck.

Until Deathwing returns…

Another final note, some weeks old news, our second Shadowmourne recipient was earned by Rynor. One of the best Paladins on the server, and a player truly deserving of such a great weapon. You earned it, bro.

Whole Lotta Glory

With some hasty vile spirit killing we checked off one of our final goals of the expansion: Closing out with all the Glory achievements but the Naxxaramas version (oh…Immortal…) and leaving only the Heroic version of the Lich King left on our plate. An Alliance First and Server Third to add to our Wrath of the Lich King trophy case.
The Cataclysm approaches, but we’re not quite done yet.

It doesn’t get any easier hearing [noted lifetime smoker] Sindragosa berate your raid as you attempt to bring her down each week. After hearing it so many times, you start to imagine what it would sound like if she was voice-acted by Billy Mays.

Things are crazy these days. With the shootout-to-make-it-in Flyers facing off against the Chicago Blackhawks for a Stanley Cup, and LA/Boston destined to meet (again) for an NBA title, visions of Icebound Frostbrood Vanquishers dance in our heads.

Ironic that Summer is upon us as we go for something frosty. In web page related news, new banners are starting to crop up. The last of them will soon be finished. Just in time for the end of the expansion.
Just a few checkmarks to take care of this reset after the Last Big Dragon fell:

I’m getting to this post exactly one week late but better late than never, right?

The expansion is really starting to wind down as whispers of alpha and beta (frankly, I’m holding out for the Charlie testing) start to come out. Ruby Sanctum is also right around the corner, but there’s still a few encounters to take down before we put ICC to rest.

Professor Putricide and his slimy science was one of those. We’re still on the lookout for a few DPS players (hunter, feral druid, shadow priest, in particular).

Le Shadowmourne

With the 50th shard collected our stalwart, crazy, whirlwinding, dps warrior dwarf Dalmare finally crafted his Shadowmourne, BRM’s 3rd legendary of this expansion. It’s a much deserved reward for pushing the tanks to the brink of insanity trying to keep up. Now he can resume his duty as third “tank” with a much higher TPS weapon.

Congrats again!

Adding to the lists of guild firsts, we finished off Sindragosa Hard Mode and completed Glory of the Icecrown Raider (10 player) this evening. The last of the Glory Achievements awaits with the 25 player version. Best of luck to the other 10 mans as they finish off the last few achievements on the meta.

Shorty Got Low

It seems that lately we are getting very good at collecting heroic mode boss kills in batches. Last week’s raid on Festergut was shortened abruptly by a hiccup in the server, and when we came back for the raid on Tuesday we found that King Wrynn was providing us with 5% more help.

We decided to finish up the another wing and go straight for Lady Deathwhisper. For one raid night we fell behind in progression, but by the end of April Fools, we had finished up and reclaimed a spot with some hard work on Deathwhisper and solid first kills of Deathbringer Saurfang and Festergut. For good measure we tacked on achievement after dancing with Rotface for a bit.
9/12 Heroic 25’s and Dalmare is sitting just 21 shards shy of a shiny new Orange.

Break On Through

The defeat of the Lich King started a new progression race, the final raiding push of Wrath of the Lich King (and last for raiding as we know it before Cataclysm). Some familiar bosses with a few new tricks up their sleeves awaited.

Our goal going into this week was to take down at least 5 of the new encounters. We got 6: Marrowgarr, Gunship Battle (lol), Rotface, Blood Prince Council, Valithria Dreamwalker, Blood Queen Lana’thel. Since taking pictures of the same bosses, especially without achievements, is a little lame, we’ll do a quote round-up from this week of fun. To cap it off…one of the most epic kill shots in BRM history.

A quick shoutout to Dalmare who is well on his way to a Shadowmourne collecting several Deathfrost Shards this week. Great work this week and here’s to more next reset!
Even Pirates need consumables for Blood Queen Heroic.

What does cosmo have to say?

Bompbomp is cool.

More pirate mod shenanigans.

And finally…

King Nothing

Then it all crashes down
And you break your crown
And you point your finger
But there’s no one around

Just want one thing
Just to play the king
But the castle’s crumbling
And you’re left with just name

Where’s your crown, King Nothing?
.
Val’kyr carrying away your raid members.  Void zones that get worse the more you stand in them.  Exploding ghosts. Images of your “friends” trying to kill you.  All of these combined into one very long, very epic encounter.  If you were one of the many that decided to go ahead and watch the cut scene before you defeated The Lich King…shame on you, you missed out.  Short video of the end of the fight (and some other thoughts on the final raid encounter to come at borsked.com.

BRM, the Kingslayers
.
We aren’t done yet. Onward and upward to hard mode and completing the last Glory of the Raider Achievement.  Recruitment-wise, we’re on the lookout for another shadow priest and moonkin that can put out the DPS (relatively speaking of course).

Some bosses are memorable for their voice acting in a good way.  Malchazzar comes to mind, Illidan, Brutallus, and recently, Professor Putricide.  There are also some mobs that are so bad you have to turn off the sound just to be able to do the fight.Quite honestly this is the only fight that has been that bad.

Also, with this kill Dalmare is now just a handful of shards from moving onto the final stages of crafting Shadowmourne.  May the RNG roll our way.

Good thing we put an end to that and now…

One more step remains (then we get to do it again on hard mode).
