Hello, Ragnaros!
61% on our first try tonight. Time to go get some more gear, but we’ll be back…
(Note: Rag is actually much bigger than pictured. I’m standing quite a ways away).

Cheesemidget, one of the guild hunters, has been having an interesting time lately, and was kind enough to write up his experiences, with plenty of pictures.
It all started with a leaf…

Grats, Cheese!
Fritzz managed to snag the last 2 minutes of our victory over Onyxia. Check it out!
Not much more to say than that. We walked in and nailed her on the second try. Didn’t even have a full raid, didn’t matter a bit.
I try to keep commentary out of these posts, but I’m real proud of you guys. We have been tearing it up recently, and it’s been a blast doing it.
Here is Onyxia “resting” in her lair:

We dragged her head back to Stormwind, and hung it high, for all to see.

Onyxia dropped a Halo of Transcendance, a Stormrage Cover, a Ring of Binding, a Mature Black Dragon Sinew, and the usual head, bag, and BOE blues.
Hopefully her brother will be joining her shortly… Stay tuned!
So, we’re now in our 4th week of running MC. Last night’s run went smooth, real smooth. No wipes through Sulfuron. We had just enough Aqual Quintessence to douse all the runes, why not go say “Hi” to Majordomo Executus before turning in for the night?

Once we saw him, well, we might as well TRY him, right? So we’re plugging along, second try, and we see…

BOOM! Domo is down, baby! He left us some lovely gifts as well, an Ancient Petrified Leaf, a Core Hound Tooth, and a pair of Core Forged Greaves.
Sadly, Domo went running back to hide under Ragnaros’ flaming skirt before we could get a good group shot, but I did manage to grab this screenie of me, umm, “thanking” Domo for his chest.
That’s it. We’re out of bosses. Sulfuron keeled over last night (leaving us Pauldrons of Might and a Mantle of Prophecy). In three weeks, we’ve gone from never dropping a MC boss as a guild to an empty core. Of course there are these pesky runes laying around everywhere…
It’s kind of amusing, once we downed Golemagg easily last week, a bunch of us realized that we really ought to be working on the Hydraxian Waterlords questlines, as Majordomo was not far out of reach for us. But most of us were quickly got stuck on the quest “The Molten Core,” because we’d already killed Magmadar that week, and no core hounds were left. The next run, we killed core hounds, but also downed Lucifron and Gehennas, so now we’re working on “Hands of the Enemy“, and have Shazzrah and Sulfuron’s hands, but not Lucifron or Gehennas. Ah well, we’ll get this done eventually.
Here’s a shot of Sulfuron in our favorite pose:
Yesterday Zul’jin became the third server to open the gates of Ahn’Qiraj. Sadly, hardly anyone showed up…

A bunch of zones had had their normal monsters despawned, and in their place, a number of new Qiraji units:

Along with these, in each hive were my new personal nemeses, the Colossals.

The Colossals hit like a truck, had nigh-infinite hitpoints, and would periodically do a “massive attack,” which would damage everyone within sight and send them flying halfway across the zone. If the hit didn’t kill you, the fall almost certainly would. (I survived exactly once, when the knockback knocked me onto the top of a mountain, and thus I only took 900 falling damage as opposed to the usual 4500).
While we didn’t have a lot of luck with the Regal Colossal, some folks got the bright idea of disguising the main Night Elf building in Cenarion Hold as a female insect, thus inducing the Ashi Colossus to attempt to mate with it:

Thus distracted, the Ashi Colossus quickly fell. Since Regal was getting us nothing but repair bills, we threw together a quick raid to go hit the Ruins of Ahn Qiraj, and downed Kurinnaxx, the first boss fairly easily.

Kurinnaxx dropped a Qiraji Sacrificial Dagger, a Qiraji Martial Drape, a Codex of Prayer of Healing V, and a formula for Enchant Cloak - Stealth.
We made a couple of attempts on Rajaxx, the second boss, but we got called outside to witness the end of the event, along with about a zillion of our closest friends.

We got to witness the spirits of dragons fighting the spirits of the Qiraji. (Sadly, none of my dragon pics came out very well).

After that, some more Anubisath feet spawned and stepped on us a bit, but it was OK, because we were all getting healed for like 4000 points every second from the aura of the NPC Night Elf priestess who was there.

Eventually the feet got DPSed down, and all the normal mobs respawned, along with the new Cenarion Hold questgivers. We’ve got two new dungeons to raid!
