The Prophecy States That Skeram Will DIE!!

Blogged by duthan as Boss Downed! — duthan Tue 16 May 2006 10:11 pm

Lag tonight sucked. We had an absolutely flawless Vael attempt that ended with him at 6%, simply due to attacks taking forever to get off. Who needs that? So we did a quick change of plans and headed out to the sands of Silithus, and popped into the Temple of Ahn’Qiraj while we were there…

skeram-down.jpg

We sent Skeram to meet his god (not a very long walk, really), and collected our purples. We got an Amulet of Foul Warding, Boots of the Redeemed Prophecy, and Plans: Thick Obsidian Breastplate.

Lots of new firsts recently guys, let’s keep it up!

We Teach Chromaggus Some New Tricks

Blogged by duthan as Boss Downed! — duthan Mon 15 May 2006 10:00 pm

Roll over, boy! Our worst enemy wasn’t Chromaggus tonight, it was actually the authentication servers. We were only able to muster up 32 people for tonight’s Chromaggus try. Seriously thought about calling it off. But what the hell, we decided to give it our best. And we were able to turn:

into:

in fairly short order. Chromaggus was a good boy to both healers and tanks, fetching us Pauldrons of Wrath, Stormrage Pauldrons, Empowered Leggings, and an Elementium Threaded Cloak.

This BWL reset was very very good to us, taking us from a guild downing Vael to a guild attempting Nef. (Well, our attempt wasn’t all that serious, but we did give him a noogie before we left).

Grats, everyone!

Friday Night Dragonslaying

Blogged by duthan as Boss Downed! — duthan Sat 13 May 2006 11:50 am

Since we’d downed Broodlord for the first time Thursday, we figured it was a good time to put together a special raid to go press deeper into BWL. Strike while the iron was hot. Press our luck. Friday night, a fearless band of dragonslayers met in the upper reaches of Blackrock Mountain.

First up, Firemaw. Our most challenging kill of the night, he gave us some trouble for a while. Eventually we hammered out a new strategy, and…

firemaw-down.jpg

He gave up a Black Ash Robe and the Handguards of Transcendence.

Next up were the technician packs. Oh, the trash. They actually gave us more heartburn than any of the bosses we fought last night. After much blood and sweat, we finally figured out a reliable way of dealing with them, and pressed on. Luckily, while fighting them we did get a Doom’s Edge and Ringo’s Blizzard Boots, along with some Elementium Ore.

Next up, Ebonroc! Wow. Just wow. Our first time seeing him, and we downed him on the first shot, with NO deaths. Certainly glad we pushed on past the technician packs to get to him.

ebonroc-down.jpg

He gave us a Ring of Blackrock and a Dragonbreath Hand Cannon.

Last, but not least, Flamegor. It took us three tries to get him down, trying a different strategy on each try. The third one certainly clicked.

Flamegor loved the healers tonight, offering us a pair of Stormrage Handguards and a Shroud of Pure Thought.

An excellent run. We actually set the record for most new bosses downed in one night. even in our early days of  MC running, when the new stuff was dropping fast and furious we never did more than 2 new bosses a night. In this past week we’ve gone from 2 BWL bosses downed to 6. Congratulations, and excellent work, everyone!

Before we left, though, we just had to yank the lever…

Broodlord Reigns No More

Blogged by duthan as Boss Downed! — duthan Thu 11 May 2006 10:30 pm

Very nice start to the run tonight, extremely clean kill on Vaelastrasz. So we moseyed on up to the suppression room, and pushed our way through there through sheer force of will. Most of us had never seen the suppression room before, so it was sticky at bits, but we made our way through. Then, we came to the Broodlord Lashlayer, and Bam! Our first time seeing the guy, and he went down.

broodlord-down.jpg

Very nice work. He gave us a Maladath, Runed Blade of the Black Flight, Nemesis Boots, Netherwind Boots, and of course the Head of the Broodlord Lashlayer.

Very nice work, everyone!

Ossirian Gets Scarred

Blogged by duthan as Boss Downed! — duthan Sat 6 May 2006 11:54 pm

Vengeance for Grakkarond! We had a gorgeous-smooth AQ20 run last night, Rajaxx fell faster than Worldcom stock back in the day, Buru and Moam both got spanked, so we had a good long time to work Ossirian over. And sure enough, with enough loving…

ossirian-down.jpg

He was so good to us, dropping his head, Gauntlets of New Life, Ossirian’s Binding, and assorted books and rings. A beautiful AQ20 run, alll around. Grats to all who made it happen!

Vaelastrasz Down!

Blogged by duthan as Boss Downed! — duthan Wed 26 Apr 2006 10:05 pm

We granted Vael’s wish Wednesday night, dropping him in an epic battle. And we earned it. It was tight. 3 people left alive at the end, last tank died at 2% and the life bar seemed to hang at 1% FOREVER. But man, did it get loud when he went down.

Vael-down.jpg

Vael left us a Judgement Belt, a Netherwind Belt, and a Rune of Metamorphosis. Wow, it felt good to see this dragon go.

Grats, guys!

Moam Down!

Blogged by duthan as Boss Downed! — duthan Sun 23 Apr 2006 8:22 am

Making some progress in AQ20 on the weekends, we sallied forth into the realm of walking statues. There, Moam fell in a DPS-swarming race to the finish.

moam-down.jpg

Gave us a metric gob of stuff, too. A Codex of Renew X, a  Tome of Frostbolt XI, a Plans: Black Grasp of the Destroyer, a Cloak of the Savior, a Qiraji Magisterial Ring, and a Qiraji Spiked Hilt. Whew!

Grats to all!

Our first step into BWL!

Blogged by duthan as Boss Downed! — duthan Wed 12 Apr 2006 9:35 pm

Razorgore finally dropped for us last night. Pretty damn smoothly, too, kiters had no issues, dropped him on the first try of the night. A lot of blood, sweat, and gold went into this kill, grats to everyone who put major effort into it.
razorgore-down.jpg

Razorgore left us a pair of Netherwind Bindings, Judgement Bindings, and an Arcane Infused Gem. Afterwards we all sat around and had a spot of tea by the beautiful orb.

Then, on to Vael! Did not fall tonight, but we did get him to 9%. We’ve got his number…

Welcome to the show, Jin’do!

It was a fine show, indeed. Jin’do got nailed on our second try last night after we polished off Hakkar. Only dropped blues, but it’s nice to know we can visit him productively in the future. Grats to all who were there!
